Fitness Forward Physical Therapy

At Strength & Grace Physical Therapy and Wellness you can expect a treatment approach that is fitness-forward. Fitness-forward physical therapy treatments are rooted in a proactive approach to recovery and general wellness. Rather than focusing solely on the rehabilitation of a specific injury or prioritizing a return to "baseline", it integrates functional exercises, strength training, and mobility work to help patients not only overcome specific ailments, but also create a foundation for prolonged wellness and an improved quality of life across the lifespan.

What to expect at your evaluation

At your pelvic floor physical therapy evaluation, we will start by discussing your health history, symptoms, and any concerns you may have in a comfortable, private setting. The evaluation includes an assessment of your posture, movement patterns, and pelvic floor function, which may involve external examination to check muscle tone and tension. If appropriate and with patient consent, an internal assessment may also be performed to better understand your pelvic floor strength, coordination, and mobility. This thorough evaluation helps us create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, and you'll leave with a clear understanding of how we can work together to improve your pelvic health.

Treatment Options

Pelvic floor physical therapy incorporates a variety of effective modalities, including dry needling, cupping, soft tissue mobilization, and exercise education, to address pain, improve function, and promote healing.
Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique that involves inserting thin needles into trigger points or tight muscles to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve movement.
Cupping

Cupping

Cupping, or myofascial decompression, is a therapy that uses suction cups to create negative pressure on the skin, helping to release muscle tension, improve blood flow, and promote healing in the affected tissues.
Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft tissue mobilization is a hands-on technique used in physical therapy to release muscle tightness, improve tissue flexibility, and alleviate pain by applying targeted pressure and stretching to the muscles, fascia, and connective tissues.
